What that is I have no idea at all.

As part of their ongoing campaign to get us all drinking their beer, especially their Light version, Heineken have once more hired this blog to point you at a video.

Point:

In it we get taken behind the scenes of a video shoot . You know the sort of thing, like an end of the pier “What the Brewer saw”?

It is getting near pint time isn’t it?

And the advertising campaign is about how billboards become occasionally perfect, see? Just like the beer, always pretty good, but occasionally, just perfect?

And my, my, aren’t parts of Chicago just occasionally perfect stand ins for the arse end of South London sometimes?

Or is putting past hits into beer adverts not selling out but carefully extracting full value from a back catalogue?

Which means that advertising the stuff using a man with a great big handlebar moustache is, umm interesting.

Are we to assume that the Laydeez, those who would like the taste but not the calories on their hips would like a large moustache…err, to grow one that is. Or are we to assume that they’d like the sort of menfolk who drink the light beer which produces the large moustache so that the laydeez can play with it?

Ahem.

If we go behind the moustache perhaps we can find out.

Or is it all that manly men who grow big moustaches, who can grow big moustaches, are also concerned about calories these days? There being a shortage of bears to slaughter, cows to poke and trees to lumberjack in American urban centres these days?

We report, you decide, fair and unbalanced, that’s our motto.

It’s all modern and stuff because not only have we got beer being advertised on TV and radio and blogs’n’ things, we’ve even got a brand new hashtag as well. #occasionallyperfect.

It’s the first bit, naturally. Something falls from the skies with a resounding thump…..what could it be?

What but a fallen angel, quite.

Not really all that sure about the rest of it though: angels falling to earth and shattering their halos over a scruffy Italian kid and his deodorant?

Bit hard to believe really.

After all, we have it on the good authority of Gregory the Great that it’s the Angli who are the Angeli, don’t we?

So, why not upgrade the sound system itself in the laptop: and that in turn means upgrading the speakers. Up until that point everything’s digital and so doesn’t make much difference to sound reproduction.

In order to launch this new bounty Asus have set up a site called Musicbox. Usual idea, send the information to your Facebook page and so on: but the trick is that you upload a photo of yourself which is then overlaid with stock characters (rock star, etc etc, although sadly I couldn’t find the “middle aged uncle making a fool of himself drunkenly at the family wedding” one) and then add in your message. This icon then travels off to deliver the good news to whoever you send it to.

I have to admit that while I had a go at all of this I didn’t manage to send anything to anyone. But that’s because I’ve no idea how you send a 140 character message on Facebook nor how you update your status on Twitter. Those are things for younger livers to deal with I feel.
