Before I was married I was a spender and then when I married I became a saver. My wife is more sensible than me but we have spent sometimes too.
I was always under the impression that he danced on the other side of the aisle.

He certainly had me fooled. Met him & had quite a long conversation with him back in the 70s & filed him under definite shirtlifter. And very orange. Made Peter Hain look positively pallid.

I only found this out myself a couple of years ago, when it was revealed that Lionel’s wife gets very, very annoyed by the jokes about him on ‘I’m Sorry, I Haven’t A Clue’.
