The Paris police department issued a statement saying the gas posed no health risks but warned that it smelled like a mixture of “sweat, garlic and rotten eggs”.
Caused panic in Maidstone apparently. There was a worry that the exchange students were arriving early.

Here, West Sussex, it smelt to me like hot asphalt with a hint of burnt tyre, not all that unpleasant actually.
