When the European Constitution was first advanced, the EU institutions announced that 200 “civil society” organisations were to be involved in the consultations. Hannan discovered that every single one of these received EU grants.

    Not really.

    You honestly won’t have thought that they might consult with somebody who couldn’t be trusted, bribed or out-right bullied in to providing the ‘right’ answers in a suitably obsequious manner?

    The Booker book ‘The Castle of Lies’, although nearly 20 years old, makes the point that ‘Front organisations’ which can pose as ‘representing’ various are an essential part of the European project, as indeed they were in its Soviet forerunner…
