July 21 – Scores of people abandon homes as fires spread in parts of Madeira in Portugal. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
Ahem. Madeira and the Algarve are two different places within Portugal.
Is there another “Madeira”, apart from the mid-ocean island? (I’m not being sarcastic: it’s a genuine enquiry.)
Tim adds: Could well be: but that’s not what is confusing them. There are fires on Madeira and also on the Algarve (there are every summer but this year there’s a big one over by Tavira, mebbe 50 km from us.)
