Study shows Putin’s election victory doesn’t add up
Vladimir Putin’s election as Russian President was either the result of a hopelessly inept rigging exercise or voting patterns which contradict the laws of statistics, according to a new study.
Really, that just is such a surprise, isn’t it?

While I don’t disagree with their conclusions, their 1 in 10^70 is pure invention.
Firstly, we don’t understand voting patterns well enough. They’ve made massive assumptions about the evenness of distribution in as odd a thing as voting patterns.
Secondly, with the 107% turnout in that (Chechen?) precinct, we’ve got 0 (no, actually zero, not close to it) chance of the result being a statistical freak.
