I quite like the idea of an ignorance tax: a levy on homeopathic remedies, organic food, lottery tickets and Polly Toynbee. I wonder if parting fools from their money is fiscally neutral?

Obviously we already have a levy on homepathuc remedies: VAT on water bills.
