Politics is simply a vile necessity: a way of getting the bins emptied and society’s scut work done.
Let them have as much power as is needed to do that, no more, and then ignore them. As long as the bins are emptied, why pay any more attention?

Err, no. That’s what you think it should be about. After all these years, haven’t you noticed that the likes of Richie and Polly think it’s about shaping society (by force when necessary) in to a form that they wish for. Politics is the struggle between these opposing ideas.
