I conducted an experiment and controlled my calorie intake for two years, including a heart-rate monitor for exercise. The Harris-Benedict equation for estimating basal metabolic rate was pretty close to my observed levels. The &quot;2000 calories a day&quot; thing was utter tosh.</description>
