You get to play guitar with Eric Clapton and he plays rhythm for the people have come to see your guitar playing.
Just another one of those moments when a huge shit eating grin is the only proper response to the deal that life has dealt you

Just a comma missing I reckon:
“…and he plays rhythm, for the people…”

Thanks. I just spent an hour watching this and others like it. I’d forgotten… aaah.

And you know what makes me feel really ancient? Sultans of Swing is over thirty years old. Still one of the greatest songs ever recorded.
Tim adds: Make you feel ancient? The original album is the first one I ever bought….

Two of the finest guitarists ever, playing on the same stage? Good god…

Clapton played alongside Dire Straits on a couple of occasions. This one, I’m pretty sure, is the Nelson Mandela birthday tribute in 1988 – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_Mandela_70th_Birthday_Tribute#Performers_and_Speakers – I recognise the set decoration. So this recording is over 20 years old.
Aargh.
