GORDON Brown is in line to become the EU’s first president, it emerged last night.
He probably would do absolutely anything to stop Blair getting the job.

Well actually why not, he’s a numbers man, an intellectual heavy-weight, and the EU is not as much a place of personality politics, which British politics slowly is becoming, very much at Brown’s expense.
