Gosh, really?

Barack Obama has only four years to save the world. That is the stark assessment of Nasa scientist and leading climate expert Jim Hansen who last week warned only urgent action by the new president could halt the devastating climate change that now threatens Earth. Crucially, that action will have to be taken within Obama\’s first administration, he added.

Isn\’t that amazing? A chronic problem that started with the Industrial Revolution 259 years or so ago (or for those who think it started with agriculture, perhaps 8,009 years ago) and which is going to play out over the next 491 to 691 years (2.500 to 2,700 AD being the rough estimate of when Greenland melts) both can be and must be solved within the entirely arbitrary 4 year timescale that a specific politician is in office.

That\’s real cometh the hour, cometh the man sort of stuff, isn\’t it?

Might there not be a touch of hyperbole to this? Ya think?

  1. Well, there’s certainly only four years for Barack Obama to save the planet; after that, given the damage he plans to do to everything, he’ll be out on his ear.

  2. “A chronic problem that started with …”

Tim, you have an active, inquiring and suspicious mind. You always examine the premises of any argument. Except the ones on climate change.

The premise of all ‘climate change’ or ‘global warming’ arguments is the little sentence fragment above.

Why don’t you ever cast a bilious and suspicious eye on it?
