"<i>If they’d simply asked their own accountants the whole scheme could have been explained to them</i>"

The scheme will have been created by a Big 4 firm, not GMG's in-house accountants. The only people who fully understand it will be very senior at GMG. And I'm fairly sure anyone who's worked in a corporate environment will have a fairly good idea of how a call from a reporter employed in-house to the CFO asking for advice on financial reporting would be received (for those of you who haven't, the second word would be 'off').

Thanks, KMcC. I don't believe him when he says "I remember JK Galbraith saying to me once: "I've been rich and I've been poor, and rich is better." "

It's impossible to avoid a Land Value Tax. Stop paying and the government sell it for you.

"Odd", you say; but is it odd if we suspect that he may be a dishonest twat? Perhaps people can think of evidence against which to test that conjecture?
