With neither Labour nor the National Party expected to storm elections in Australia, the Maori Party hold the balance of power

I don’t think that Australian elections include a Labour or a National party, do they? And certainly not enough Maoris to make a difference….

    The Australians do have a National Party – they are a country party that is usually in coalition with the Liberals. But the other guys have always called themselves the Labor Party.

    Its just a sub-editor’s mis-reading of the actual story which is about N.Z. Get a grip., Timmy.

    The Labor Party changed their spelling at some point in their history. I think it was to differentiate themselves from a number of other proclaimed ‘Labour Parties’ in Australia at the time.

    And if it is New Zealand the article is about then it is plain wrong on the results.
