If William Nordhaus was the only person to even come close in predicting the costs of the Iraq war, how come no one takes his estimates of the costs of mitigation of climate change seriously?

Excellent summation of the GW debate but as they say in financial circles - past performance is no guarantee of future results.
Having said that if we have to go down the mitigation route I would prefer to go with his predictions until someone comes up with better predictions.
