Soft power turns out a lot like Hard power. It can cut both ways. And frankly the Chinese are just much much better at it than anyone else and the short term memory of our self-loathing, self-apologist 68er Lords and Masters means they are just not mentally tough enough to deal with the Chinese. Who do not hate themselves and their own culture, are not apologetic about their own interests, but perhaps should be.

My complaint, as ever, is not that the bastards have been bought, although they obviously have, but that they should have been bought so cheaply. The Chinese would have paid a fortune to get this result and I bet all they had to do was ask nicely.
