ups. I'm a horse's astronomical sign.

I was berating HYS, not WHYS, who asked:

"Should all companies in Africa be under black ownership?"

In which case Tim and Mark.. I apoligise to NO one no matter how many phone lines 'lit up'.

I thought that whole HYS belonged in Yahoo! Answers too.

Also because Y!A self-moderation works a million times better than those sadistic BBC mod'ers.
Serious!
"BBC: moderation in all things.. except of course moderation"

But then wheres the fun in that? The Brits saying "Fair Play®".
That's a Monty Python classic!

God love you all, you litle dears.

Egad! Why so angry?

The BBC WHYS is giving the otherwise voiceless a chance to sound off. I know some questions are a bit thin, but a prestigious NPR show out of Washington, DC, here in the states (The Diane Rehm Show) once did a whole hour on belly fat. So don't get bent!

Get a shrink!

Excuse me!?

I paid for my first TV licence when I was 17! Where I don't agree with the license I do believe in the BBC - as an ex-pat how would I be able to keep up to date with the news back in the UK, week old newspapers? SkyNews? CNN? I paid my taxes, and I paid for my license I think I should get something back.

Inclusion means including all - and if that means people from other nations speaking to each other what more could you want? The World Service is a good service and should be kept.

BTW - the BBC website puts adverts on the site for those who are not in the UK, and I am sure you know how much of an annoyance that is - but we put up with it because we support the Beeb.

TIM, thanxs a lot for all that you have done. I believe that the World Service is doing good and shouldnt be blamed for what they air. Its a way of trying to open up the eyes of the people about what is happening to the whole world.

I know that there are many people in Uganda who subscribe to the same ideas.

Have fun and hope to hear from you!

It seems to me that Mugabe (and most CBC employees) are cigar-puffing, top-hatted, champagne-swilling, tache-twiddling, servant-girl-bonking, monocle-manipulating rentier swine. Or am I mixing the posts too much?

Has Robert Mugabe got this right? He bulldozes the homes of all those who disagree with him, steals all the food aid for his own supporters and steals millions for his personal bank account. Would you like a similar regime in your country? Let us know your views.

While this does seem incredibly pointless, the idea that this is being paid for out of taxes is rubbish. WordPress.com is a free blog service, and even if it was on the BBC's own servers it would cost next to nothing to set up.

Tim adds: It's a set up for the radio show, asking people to phone in and give their opinions. So, yes, taxes.

From my limited exposure to the BBC World Service, my impression is that they have taken it upon themselves to try and represent the various prejudices of 'the world', no matter how nutty they are. Moral relativism is alive and well.
