Rumours are now rife that Mr Leslie, still only 35, is now understood to harbour ambitions to return to the Common.

Leslie was one of the most irritating MPs in the last Parliament. He was given the task of justifying new constitutional arrangements that would separate the legislature, judiciary, etc. He went over and over his prepared text like a Mormon at the front door, always falling back on the axiom that we must separate the legislature etc etc without ever explaining why. I suspect the reason was some requirement by the stinking EU.

“Clapham Common is a triangular area of grassland of about 220 acres (0.8 km²) in size, situated between Clapham, Battersea and Balham in south London, England. It was historically common land for the parishes of Battersea and Clapham, but was converted to parkland under the terms of the Metropolitan Commons Act 1877. The common contains three ponds which are historical features and a more modern paddling pool.”
